Grammar Stage AM Session Summary/Sample
(grades 1st-6th)

8:30-9:00 is opening exercises with the whole community --- attendance,
announcements, devotions, and pledges.

9:00-12:00 is the AM session which includes:

  • 1/2 hour of gym time
  • 1/2 hour of science experiments
  • 1/2 hour of art for 15 weeks and music for 15 weeks
  • 1 ½ hours of classroom time with mentors in rooms of about 8 students working on weekly memorization facts which form the basis for the week’s investigations at home.

Presentations --- students prepare and present on a given topic for about 3 minutes each week to practice speaking and listening skills.

Bible memory --- Module 1 Week 1: Old Testament Pentateuch = Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy

History sentences --- Module 1 Week 1: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1) = day1 God made light; day 2 divided the firmaments; day 3 land, sea, and plants; day 4 sun, moon, stars; day 5 fish and birds; day 6 animals and man; day 7 God rested.

Science facts --- Module 1 Week 1: What characteristics do all life forms have?
DNA, Adapt to change, Reproduce, and Extract energy from surroundings and convert it into usable energy to sustain life.

English grammar --- Module 1 Week 1: 8 Parts of Speech = nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, conjunctions, interjections, prepositions, adjectives

Latin --- Module 1 Week 1: Ecclesiastical Latin Pronunciation Rules (vowels) = A says “ah” as in father; E says “ay” as in obey; I says “ee” as in machine; O says “oh” as in note; U says “oo” as in rule

Geography --- Module 1 Week 1: Continents = North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, Antartica

Math facts --- Week 1: Skip counting the ones and twos = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 / 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22 24
